Sweat Attends Yale University Divinity School
Angellica Sweat was among a select group of students to recently experience Yale Divinity School’s Continuing Education program. The program was entitled, “Got Joy, Nurturing Joy and Flourishing in the midst of Adversity.” The Third Annual Youth Ministry intensive was a week long course that equipped youth leaders to serve through social media, understanding the pipeline to prison, and the use of art to deal with mental health and trauma.
The program was designed to expose students to strategic methods and interventions towards improving youth ministry. There were 105 participants in the program with 20 being African Americans. Sweat was awarded a certificate of completion and plans to use the experience to equip other youth leaders especially to deter the pipeline to prison.
