Jacob Goes to Church is a story of the new kid in the neighborhood who has never been to church and knows very little about God. Jacob, age 14, lives with his mom and younger siblings not far from the community church. One Sunday he attends the worship service and meets Violet who becomes his tour guide. With assistance from Pastor Dudley, Violet exposes Jacob to a firm understanding of God’s commitment to always be with us.
The story explores topics such as spirituality, friendship, fellowship, and fear youth face when attempting to learn more about God. The book raises issues of values, honesty, and Godly influences, showing how the application of each impacts faith formation. Jacob Goes to Church becomes a resource for Church school, Sunday school, summer camp, and Vacation Bible school. With the teacher/parent lesson guide it can be used with groups or individual study.
