David A. Williams is a native of Eastern North Carolina. Educated by the public schools of Kinston, North Carolina, Williams later earned a BA degree from East Carolina University, Greenville, NC and a Master of Divinity from Hood Theological Seminary, Salisbury, NC. Currently, Williams is the pastor of Pleasant Ridge AME Zion Church.
Williams serves several Boards and Organization in the AME Zion Church such as the Piedmont Episcopal District Institute, & the Western North Carolina Conference CED Department. For more than 10 years he served as National Director of Youth Ministries for the AME Zion Church, and locally he helped to establish youth and young adult initiatives. Through his tenure at Pleasant Ridge AME Zion Church, the church has seen continuous growth through outreach programs such as the National Day of Prayer held at the Downtown Rotary Pavilion, the Annual Community Thanksgiving Skate Party, and most recently the distribution of more than 1,000 Lenten Meditation Booklets.
As an Author, Williams has published several books over the years, most recently he has written, Jacob Goes to Church, The Day After, Birth it For the Kingdom, and The Joshua Generation Youth Workbook. His most recent work to be released is entitled, Panic Button-Getting It Done Against the Odds.
Musically, Williams continues to offer worship music for the edification of the body of Christ. In 2013 the album entitled, “Rearranged,” was released and currently a new album entitled, “Devotion,” was released in the spring of 2015. You can find other musical works by Pastor David A. Williams is currently writing his dissertation in fulfillment of the Doctorate of Education-Leadership Curriculum Degree from the University of Phoenix. Williams should complete his work in the fall of 2015.”
Pastor Williams is married to Karen R. Williams and together they have two children, Karian and David II. and a beloved dog named Popcorn.
